The New Push Toy

The other day I was picking up the house a bit before putting Asher down for bed. I came out of the bedroom and saw him pushing the garbage can around like it was his walker. He continued to do this for about 25 minutes, but don't worry, I only show you the highlights.

Asher's Birthday Extravaganza

Last weekend we had the 'Birthday Extravaganza'. I actually contemplated whether or not to even have a party, or to just have cake at home quietly. But Mike's mom and brother were coming into town for it, then my two best friends bought tickets to come too. So, of course we had to have an extravaganza!

We decided to have it at Liberty Park (the park by our house) which turned out perfectly. We arrived and found a crew of LARPers (Live Action Role Play) right by our pavilion. They fought battles with foam swords and full costume, and who could complain. Free Entertainment.

We grilled burgers and hot dogs while the kids played in the nearby playground.

Then everyone gathered around the high chair to sing Happy Birthday before devouring the cupcakes. After everyone started clapping, Asher looked around for a bit then started crying. I think the large amount of people all staring at him made him a bit nervous.

Once he started eating the cake it seemed to all get better. He didn't, actually, devour the cake. He started out poking the cake and licking the icing off his finger. After watching him do this for a few minutes, I cut out a piece of the cake and handed it to him. Then the fun began.

We went out onto the grass and opened gifts. Asher was pretty done by this point, so we went as fast as possible. Asher got some pretty great gifts from some pretty great people!!
Overall, we had a blast! But I'm not sure we really need an extravaganza for every birthday.

Ashers 1st Birthday

We had a little party at the park for Ashers First Birthday. We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and let Asher enjoy his own personal cake.

More pictures to come.

Asher was getting a little ancy at the grocery store so I decided to let him have a try pushing the cart. The aisle was empty so he managed to push it all the wag down the aisle bumping each side as he went.
I was tempted to let him continue, but thought the other patrons might get a bit annoyed.
